Hi and welcome!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Beka and I am a live illustrator based in Yorkshire, UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I capture conversations<\/a> to help people spread their word in an engaging and accessible way, helping to create a useful snapshot and visual prompt for discussions, meetings, conferences, celebration events and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve collaborated with lots of lovely people<\/a> including staff at universities on a variety of socially-orientated research projects (including Newcastle, Manchester, Exeter, Sheffield and many more), two of the major UK banks, New Art Exchange (NAE), Cognitive Media, several regional councils and a number of local and national charities. I’ve worked with many clients multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My wider artistic work can be described by the term \u2018live illustration\u2019 but in different ways, including (but not limited to) live illustration or graphic recording (also known as visual minutes or \u2018scribing\u2018), 2D and 3D drawing and illustration, puppet and prop making, installations and live performance. My artwork combines drawing, interactivity and sometimes electronics and open source tech in surprising ways<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conversations Captured is based at Big Tin Shed<\/a> in Hebden Bridge, Calderdale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love puppetry (hello fellow Muppet<\/a> fans!), stop motion animation (thanks to my brother, I was introduced to the late, great Ray Harryhausen<\/a>), Hitchcock films (Nick Park, you\u2019re also amazing<\/a>), playing the fiddle and venturing into the Yorkshire hills and woodlands as much as I can. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
