Bookends is an installation by artist and illustrator, Beka H.
Fifteen miniature, interactive scenes can be found hidden amongst the books on the shelves at the Library @ The Lightbox. Each box contains its own tiny world: an interactive illustration, drawn by Beka and based on the local area, people and landmarks of beautiful Barnsley!















You can wave your hand close to the box or place a finger gently on the fingerprint on each box to see each illustration come to life!

The Crowd
All drawn by participants on a special illustration workshop as part of 64 Million Artists January challenge.
The installation was built by Beka Haigh, Nick Sparks, Ben Hollings of The Anvil Workshop, Gareth Price-Baghurst and Soo Haigh.
This project was commissioned by Barnsley Libraries and is supported using public funding by Arts Council England as part of Barnsley Libraries’ National Portfolio Organisation activity.
